Service Description

First aiders are an integral part of workplace safety. The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training. The course includes: • All tuition and use of training equipment • Course manual per person • Handouts and training pack • Course registration with the awarding body • Examination fee & Certificate • Reminder for re-qualification training Outline programme The qualification covers the following topics: • CPR and safe use of an AED • Choking casualty • Unconscious casualty • Wounds, bleeding and shock • Optional extra – Catastrophic bleeding Who should attend? The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities. Qualification information: Successful candidates will receive the Emergency First Aid at Work e-certificate which is valid for 3 years. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommend that First Aiders attend an annual skills update session (3 hours). Where and when the course will be held? The courses are held at your premises on a convenient date for your staff or at our premises in Essex. The start time of the course is 9.30am and finishes at 5.00pm, however, the times can be arranged to suit your organisation, such as schools times. Delegates are required to attend the whole course and if candidates arrive late they may have missed some of the syllabus and be unable to take the assessment.
